Louise McKinnon Battle was born on March 1, 1957 in Valdosta, GA to the late Mr. Booker T. & Mrs. Onedia McKinnon.
Louise was a graduate of Lowndes High School. She received Christ at an early age and was a member of Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ. Louise worked at South Georgia Medical Center as a Gastrointestinal Technician and retired after 28 years of service.
Louise was married to Douglas Battle for fifty-one years. Her love, grace, gratitude and strength have enriched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, siblings, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Booker T. McKinnon; mother, Onedia McKinnon; one brother, Jerry McKinnon; two brother-in-laws, Samuel Battle, Jr., Ruben Battle; two sister-in-laws, Janice Irvin and Gloria Battle.
Louise leaves to cherish her memories to her loving and devoted husband of fifty-one years, Douglas Battle of Valdosta; two loving children, Mattie Herring (Travis) and Jaquon Battle both of Valdosta, GA; six siblings, Katharine Anderson (Curtis), Larry McKinnon, Sr. (Brenda), Michael McKinnon, Mary McKinnon, Marlene McDuffie (Leroy) and Larenda Howell all of Valdosta, GA; five sister and brother-in-laws, Maxine Parnell (Emmit), Dorothy Hill (Eddie), Gloria Battle (Robert), Diana Battle and Fred Irvin all of Valdosta, GA; special and dedicated neighbor, Evelyn Howell; special family friend, Dr. Z; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ, 1515 North Barack Obama Boulevard. Brother LeRoy Butler, Jr., pastor. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Friday, November 29, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
