John Charles Earickson

John Charles Earickson, 69, died at his home in Williamsburg, NM on Thursday, November 28, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born on July 15, 1955, in Santa Fe, NM to Lawrence Seaborn Earickson and Opal Ellen Mattocks. Known as Pa to almost everyone, he was a self-employed business owner and a master carpenter. Retiring in 2020, he enjoyed woodworking, making mobiles out of crazy objects, and especially fishing!! John was a beautiful soul who treated all people the same. He used to say, “Live and let live”. John lived by his motto “Don’t worry, be happy” and he believed that love is the true wealth. John absolutely loved being a father. He especially loved being a grandfather and was delighted to be able to meet his great granddaughter right before he passed. Family meant everything to him. Survivors include his wife, Sallie Kay (Wheeler) Earickson; children – Jacob Ian Earickson and Jeremy Earickson; chosen grandson-son, Ian Michael Earickson; John and Sallie made the difficult decision to give a child up in their early relationship out of love and continued to love him to the end (Baby Boy Wheeler); grandchildren – Ian Michael Earickson, Neo Igneous Chaos Earickson, and chosen grandchildren – Noah Gibson, Evan Byers, Eli Byers, and Eric Jakoby III; siblings – Ginette Bartlett, Laurie Herren, Robert Earickson, Arthur Earickson, Nancy Earickson, and Steve Earickson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Opal Earickson; his sister, Alice Hirschfeld, and nephew, Anthony Sandoval. No services will be held.
