MRS. KATHERINE ROBERTA STALLING SHROPSHIRE - AGE 83, - Of LaFayette, Georgia passed away Monday, March 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. George Green Shropshire, parents, Mr. James Wesley Stalling and Mrs. Cora Lee Stalling, sister, Mrs. Sherlon Tucker, brothers, Misters Howard Stalling, Mr. Claudius Stalling, two grandchildren, Misters Jarred C. Shropshire, Chris Shropshire, and one granddaughter, Ms. Aubrey Shropshire. She was a member of the Deaconess Board at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Eastern Star, and Starlighters Gospel Group.Family who will share her precious memory are her six children, Ms. Gwendolyn Shropshire, Ms. Sharon Kay Shropshire, Mrs. Sandra Montgomery, Mr. Vernon Shropshire of LaFayette, Georgia, Mr. George Sherman (Shirley) Shropshire of Smyrna, Tennessee, Mr. Murl (Jackie) Shropshire of Atlanta, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Helen Jackson, Mrs. Sally Ware of LaFayette, Mrs. Marlene Chaney of Chickamauga; brother, Mr. Gary Stalling of LaFayette; sister-in-law, Mrs. Maxine Stalling, Mrs. Marion Stalling; three brothers-in-law, Mr. Henry (Norma) Shropshire, Mr. Mack (Mary) Shropshire of Springfield, Ohio, Mr. Donald Shropshire of Corpus Christi, Texas; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.Funeral service will be Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2:00 p. m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Donald White, Pastor Rheubin M. Taylor, Sr., and other ministers officiating. Her remains will be carried back to her home at 11 Shropshire Lane, LaFayette, for visitation on Friday where the family will receive friends after 5:00 p. m. until the funeral hour on Saturday. Interment, will be held Monday, March 12, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
