Larry Bailey, Sr., 71, passed in Columbus, GA on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Green Acres Cemetery, 1485 Schatulga Road, Columbus, GA with Rev. Harrison Ford, officiating. Public viewing is 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. EST on Monday, December 16, 2024.

Mr. Larry D. Bailey, Sr. was born January 8, 1953 in Phenix City, AL son of the late Roosevelt and Willie Belle-Scott Bailey.

He attended Russell County Public Schools during his early years and he was an excellent baseball player.
He was married to Willene Terry Bailey for 14 years and from this union they were blessed with one son, Larry D. Bailey, Jr.

He was a retired construction worker and heavy equipment operator.
Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by four brothers and a devoted friend, Sandra Hankerson. Mr. Bailey departed this life on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at his residence.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his son, Larry D. Bailey Jr. (Sharon); two grandchildren, Ravonna and Tatyanna Bailey; one brother, Thomas (Lillie Belle) Bailey of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Shirley Gaines of Newnan,GA., and Delphine B. McCoy of Phenix City, AL; a devoted caregiver and ex-wife Willene Terry Bailey, RN and a host of nephews, nieces, great nieces, five great nephews and a host of friends. He also leaves behind his loving pet "Peanut".
