As time would reveal, Donna, who became a beacon of strength, hope and compassion, would be cherished by all who knew her. Moving to Youngstown as a child, she grew up on the south side of town. The proud South High Warrior furthered her secondary education at Eastern Gateway Community College.

With a heart so generous and a spirit so resilient, Donna touched the lives of many, weaving a tapestry of laughter and shared moments that will forever linger in the fabric of time. Always fashionable and chic, Donna enjoyed styling hair. Donna loved to have fun, laugh and enjoy life. She was an unapologetic Steelers Nation football fan.

At the age of 18, Donna united in holy matrimony to Darren Jamison. Although the marriage dissolved, their friendship endured. Together, Donna and Darren Sr. were blessed with four beautiful Jamison children, Ashlee, Aleisha, Darren Jr. “YaYa” and DaBrail all of Youngstown.

Donna devoted her professional life to serving others as a compliance officer in the behavioral health care industry, impacting countless lives during her 10-year tenure at New Beginnings Residential Treatment Center. While at New Beginnings, she was able to minister by loving example and witness to those she served. Her unwavering commitment to fostering hope and healing in the lives of her clients exemplified her nurturing spirit and deep empathy. Pastor Donna made sure they had access to worship services, even providing transportation as needed.

The formation of her faith was foundational as she attended Third Baptist Church as a child. She was extremely active in the church and community creating an expansive network of friends. Accepting her calling to ministry, Donna was ordained to the Office of Pastor by Bishop Robert G. Moore.

Following the leading of the Holy Spirit, she started Sovereign Word of Life Ministries in her dining room. Pastor Donna served at the founding shepherd until she was directed to assist in other ministries within the community. Always faithful to the leading, she returned to New Hope Renewing of The Holy Ghost Church where she labored with Apostle William Taylor and Pastor Betty Taylor.

Pastor Donna took great pride in nurturing and guiding her family in ways of the faith, instilling in them the values of perseverance and kindness. Her gentle spirit and affirming nature, even when facing adversity will forever be a source of inspiration.
