Obituary For John Ligon

MR. JOHN LOUIS LIGON- Age 57, - Of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Monday, September 17, 2012. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and a U. S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Watts Ligon, mother, Nell Alvis and step-father Edward Ransom.Survivors are two aunts, Hattie (Paisley) Boyces of Auburn, Alabama and Jeanette Green of Opelika; two uncles, Depriest (Stella) Alvis and Herman Alvis of Auburn; two devoted friends, Teresa Buchanan and Mary Myers of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 21, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the New Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Andre Sharpe. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Thursday after 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Chattanooga National Cemetery.
