MR. EDGAR LEE SHEPPARD - AGE 66, -Of Rome, Georgia passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. He attended Holsey Sinai Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Johnson Sheppard, stepmother, Elizabeth Sheppard, brothers, Maurice Sheppard and Robert Sheppard, daughter, Shannon Sheppard.Survivors are friend, Shirley Johnson of Rome; father, Elder Leonard Sheppard; brothers, Thomas Sheppard of Cedartown, Georgia, Leonard (Pat) Sheppard, Jr., and William (Victoria) Sheppard of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Doris (John) Jelks of LaFayette, Georgia, Queenie Brasiel of Akron, and Angela Stevenson of Atlanta, Georgia; two granddaughters, Katherine Sheppard and Roshanda Sheppard; eight greatgrandchildren; special grandchildren, Brandon Griffin and Alexis Griffin; special daughter, Chelsea Holt; uncles, John (Mildred) Griffin of LaFayette; special cousin, Mary Womble; a host nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives, and friends.Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Willis Funeral Home with Elder Windell Smith and Bishop Reuben Graham, Sr. officiating. His remains will lie in the state on Thursday after 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Interment, Allgood Cemetery Trion, Georgia.
