Mr. Sherman Armand Sims born June 2, 1992, in Spartanburg, SC to Elder Robert Sims of Spartanburg and the late Ebony Nicole Sims. Our Beloved Sherman “Armand” Sims entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
Mr. Sims attended Spartanburg High School.
Left to cherish fond memories: maternal grandmother, Brenda Nelson of Spartanburg; paternal grandfather, Furman Sims; one sister, Alisha N. Sims of Spartanburg SC; one brother, Andre N. Sims, of Spartanburg, SC; five uncles, Trevis E. Nelson of Spartanburg, SC, Ronald Rice (Marion) of Mauldin, SC, Donald Rice (Denita) of Alpharetta, GA, Tony Rice (Detria) of Anderson, S.C., and Billy Rice of Salisbury, NC; four aunts, Alfreda Rice, of Columbia, S.C., Linda Evans (Bobby), of Greer, SC, Sylvia Miller of Greer, SC and Tawny Jones (Arnold) of Duncan, SC; one special godson, Austin Williams; and a host of nephews, nieces, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, lifelong friends and his pride and joy “Yoder”.
Mr. Sims was preceded in death by: his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Idella Rice; paternal step-grandfather, Herbert Lee; paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Linnie Mills; paternal great-grandfather, Elder Sherman Mills; maternal grandfather, Mr. Nelson Perez; maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Eunice Thomas; maternal great-grandfather, Mr. Albert Thomas; one uncle, Mr. Nicholas Thomas.
Mr. Sims was a happy, smiling joyful soul who was loved by many. He enjoyed life fearlessly. He made many friends along the way and he had intense love for his entire family. He brought so much joy to the lives of his nieces, nephews and all those he came in contact with. His memories and his presence will remain in our lives forever.
The family will receive family and friends between the hours of 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at The United House of Prayer for All People, Spartanburg, SC. Burial will folow in the Thompson Chapel Baptist Church, Union, SC.
Sherman will lie in state on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, Spartanburg, SC.
