Obituary For Milton Scott, Jr.

DR. MILTON DAVID SCOTT, JR. - Age 80, Of East Point, Georgia passed away Friday, August 16, 2013. He was born on April 8, 1933 in Dalton, Georgia. He served his country in the U. S. Army, was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Metro-Atlanta Masonic Lodge, and the Honorary Society. Following his military service, Dr. Scott's educational achievements include the following: Fort Valle State College - Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, Tuskegee Institute of Technology - Master of Science in Agriculture, Oklahoma State University - Master's degree in Education, University of Oklahoma - PhD in Adult Education. His early teaching experiences include employment at Ida Lowery High School in Preston, Georgia, Milledgeville Training School in Milledgeville, Georgia, and the Claytons County Alternative School. At the pinnacle of his professional teaching career was his ultimate position on the staff of Morris Brown College, where he taught courses in education.He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn Lott Scott; one son, Milton David Scott, III.; three sisters, Arvella (Charles) Starling, Georgia (Hobert) Harris, and Lillian (Walter) Miller; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11:00 A. M. from the Chapel of Willis Funeral Home with Dr. Angela Harris officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Interment, West Hill Cemetery.
