MR. ARTHUR HARRIS - AGE 83, - Of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was born on September 14, 1929 in Rockmart. Georgia and was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Lee Harris, parents, Elbert and Carrie Freeman Harris, grandson, Jamie Harris, brothers, Robert Harris, J. W. Harris, and Freddie Harris, nephews, Larry Harris, Sr., and Larry Harris, Jr.Survivors are one son, James (Annette) Harris of Dalton, Georgia; one daughter, Thelma (Homer) Thomas of Cedartown, Georgia; grandchildren, Jody Harris, Joni Harris; stepgrandchildren, Amanda Fernandez, TJ Odell, and Briget Allen; great grandchildren; special cousins, Vickie McNair, Cookie Dwight; special friends, Tim Jackson, James Franklin Tibbs, James Houston, and the James A. Hammack and family; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.The Service Celebrating the life of Mr. Arthur Harris will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 1:00 p. m. in the Chapel of Willis Funeral Home with Bishop Bennie Tibbs and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 a. m. Interment, Hopewell Cemetery.
