Ms. Lorie (Hand) Eckel, 61, of Lexington, was born on January 14, 1963 and passed away on December 23, 2024.

Lorie lived a life filled with love and dedication to her family. One of her favorite pastimes was immersing herself in the drama and stories of Days of Our Lives, a simple joy that brought her much comfort and connection over the years.

Lorie is survived by her devoted daughters, Davida Eckel, Rochelle Cooper, Ruth Skon, Rania Skon, Daisy Eckel, and David Eckel Jr. She cherished her grandchildren, Hayley McCannon, Elliana Walsh, Annisten Walsh, Briar Sorrow, Nicole Riley, Alyssa Helton, and Larissa Laudati, and took immense pride in their accomplishments and lives. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, including the precious Cora Gonzalez, who will grow up with stories of her strength and love.

Lorie's kindness, humor, and unyielding love for her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is gone, her memory will live on in the laughter and stories shared by those she touched.

A celebration of Lorie’s life will be held on January 18, 2025 at her daughter Davida McCannon's Home. The family invites all who knew her to join in honoring her remarkable journey.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave.
