MR. JAMES “JIMMY LEE” COOPER, SR. –Age 86, Of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife Jessie Mae Betton Cooper, daughter, Mary Jane Cooper Robinson, parents, Jim Henry and Mary Cooper, sisters, Bernice Moore, Mary Helen Moore, and Herline Baker, brothers, Julian Cooper, and son, Clinton Earl Betton. He is survived by his children, Syble Jean (Johnny) Gregory, Pamela (Clinton) Hampton, James Cooper, Jr., Bryan Cooper, Patricia (Wallace) Hall, and Cheryl Taylor; grandchildren, Tammy, Bridget, Brett, Aisha, Ebony, Gregory, Shareda, Jasma, DiAna, and Jamie; a host of great grandchildren and other grandchildren; brother, Leon (Marion) Cooper; sister, Charlotte (Tommy) Griffin; aunt, Nellie Mae Cooper; sister-in-law, Eva Lou Rivers; special friend, Peggy Maynard; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Homegoing Service will be held Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 2:00 P. M. at the Shiloh Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry D. Jones, Sr., Rev. Chris Bonds, and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday after 11:00 A. M. and the family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Interment, West Hill Cemetery.
