MOTHER MARY RIVERS BETTON –Age 96, Of Atlanta, Georgia formerly of Dalton, Georgia passed away Friday, February 07, 2013 Piedmont Fayette Hospital with her son at her bedside. She was better known as “Mom,” “Big Momma,” “Mae-Mae,” and “Mother Mary.” She was a lifelong member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Betton, and son, James Betton. She is survived by her loving son, John (Angenette) Betton of Atlanta; daughter-in-law, Ethel Betton; sister-in-law, Eva Lou Betton Rivers; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Homegoing Service to Celebrate the Life of Mother Mary Rivers Betton will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:30 A. M. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2014 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., with Dr. Jerry D. Jones, Sr. and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday Evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Interment, Center Valley Cemetery.
