Mr. Wilder was born in Macon to the parentage of Ruffin and Hattie Slocum Wilder. He was educated in the Bibb County School System and attended Light of the Pentecostal Church. Mr. Wilder was formerly employed by Ryder Trucking Company and Taylor Iron Works.

Survivors include: son, Willie Lance Wilder; sister, Shirley Wilder Patterson; other relatives and friends.
