Ms. Terry Elizabeth Parson, daughter of the late Lawrence Hardy Parson, Sr. and Willet B. Griffin Parson, was born on July 30, 1960, in Charlotte, North Carolina. She left this world for a better home on December 27, 2024, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. Terry had a vibrant spirit that lit up every room she entered. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She lived a life filled with love and dedication to her family.
Terry attended the public schools of Anson County and was a graduate of Bowman Senior High School’s class of 1978. She later attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for three years. Terry was not currently employed but had previous work experiences at the Charlotte Airport as a shipping manager and supervisor at West Knitting Mill in Wadesboro, NC.
Terry dedicated her life to God at an early age while a member of Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church. She was an active and devoted member of the church until moving to Charlotte, NC. While a member of Flat Rock, Terry faithfully served as a member of the church choir and worked with the youth and senior ministries. Life is a stage and Terry played her role beautifully. From an early age, Terry developed a passion for drama and singing, captivating audiences with her performances and sharing her talents with those fortunate enough to know her. Whether on stage or at family gatherings, Terry’s beautiful voice and dramatic flair were gifts that brought joy and inspiration to all. Terry appeared in several Bowman Senior High School plays, including “A Raisin In The Son” and “No Room At the Inn (a Christmas play).” Upon graduation from high school, Terry attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University as a Business Administration major. Although she did not complete her college career, she became a devoted mother to Damoin J. Parson (DJ). Terry was a loving and supportive mother and friend to her family and friends, offering encouragement, kindness and care in the times of need. Her warmth and generosity touched countless lives, leaving an incredible mark on everyone who knew her. Above all, Terry, cherished her family. She had a special bond with her nieces and nephews, whom she adored and spoiled with love and laughter. “Aunt Teri,” was their biggest cheerleader, always ready with a kind word, a helping hand or a fun adventure.
Terry was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Parson, Sr and two brothers, Eric Griffin and Walter Parson. Her memory will further be honored by her son, Damoin J.
