Obituary For James Austin

MR. JAMES ALBERT AUSTIN – Age 73, Of Dalton, Georgia passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Regency Park Health and Rehabilitation. He was a member of Community Fellowship Ministries and a member of The Gospel Songbirds and The Traveling Echoes. His parents, Silas, Sr. and Pauline Austin, three brothers, Silas, Jr., Jerry Russell, William Laverne Austin, and four sisters, Earnestine Southern, Olean Taylor, Martha Tibbs and Katie Louise Austin preceded him in death. He is survived by his dear companion of forty-seven years, Annie Mae Hill; three sons, Johnathan (Michelle) Hill, Charles (Christine) Hill, and Ted (Lisa) Hill; four sisters, Rosa Shanks, Virginia Barrett, Gussie Johnson, and Margaret (Tim) Jackson; one brother, Terry (Mamie) Austin; fourteen grandchildren; dear friend, Frank Knox; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Homegoing Service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1:00 P. M. in the Chapel with Dr. Stephen Thomas, Bishop Bennie Tibbs, Dr. Nicky P. Starling, and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A. M. Interment, Hopewell Cemetery.
