Obituary For Aaron Mays, Jr.

MR. AARON “NOOT” or “FISH” MAYS, JR. – Age 58, Of Calhoun, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Gordon Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Mays, Sr. and Maurine Mays. He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Minister Mary Helen Kennedy Mays; children, Eric (Mia) Mays, Erica Mays, Dorrell Hogan, Dexter Jones, Kenna Liburd, and Justine Crawford; grandchildren, Eric, Nate, Myles, Mason, Catherine, Najai, Aries, Marley, Dorrell, Tenley, Jada; great grandchild, Elijah, all of Calhoun; sisters and brothers, Bettye Shropshire, Kenneth (Stephanie) Mays, Sharon Curtis, Ernest White of Calhoun, Kathy Mays of Dalton, and Joel (Lillie) Huskins of Cartersville; aunt, Hazel Heard of Springfield, Ohio: special friends, Kool Purcell, Lil Gid, Puddin, Fat Boy, Marvin, Big D., T. D., P. Goober, Three, Wilbur, Baldy, Booger, Jerry, Ray, Tracey, Seth, Big E., Gee, and Chief Wah-Who; a host of other cousins, other relatives, and friends. Homegoing Service will be held Sunday, April 27, 2014 2:00 P. M. at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. James Washington, Dr. Stephen Thomas, and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday after 1:00 P. M. and at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Pine Grove Church Cemetery.
