Obituary For Ester Maynard

MS. ESTER KATE MAYNARD –Of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and retired from Shaw Industries. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Stokes, parents, Jim and Essie Mae Branham Maynard, sister, Nina Jo Richardson, and four brothers, Levi, James, Houston, and Charles Nelson Maynard. Survivors are her loving family, two daughters, Carol A. Cannon (Walt Weaver), Judy Alford, of Dalton, Georgia; four grandchildren, Rhonda S. Vassar of Mableton, Georgia, Charles Che Powers of Augusta, Georgia, Marvin Maynard Stokes of Atlanta, Georgia, Essie “Nikki” Smith of Dalton; three great grandchildren, Kendal Vassar, Sloane Vassar of Mableton, Brittany Wynn of Rome, GA.; special niece, Barbara (Kenneth) Willis; one goddaughter, Lerniece (Tracey) Dillard; two dear friends, Catherine Blackwell, Minnie Rhodes; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Homegoing Service for Ms. Ester Kate Maynard will be Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry L. Burse and other ministers officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 a. m. and the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p. m. Interment, West Hill Cemetery.
