MR. EDWARD LAMAR JONES, - AGE 65, - Of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Allen Jones, Sr., sister, Sarah Lillian Jones, and brother, Robert “Bobby” Jones. Survivors are his loving family, wife, Maureen Denise Jones; stepson, Roy Mack; stepdaughter, Shonta Mack; mother, Velma Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn (Henry) McDade all of Dalton, Georgia; one brother, Virgil Allen Jones, Jr. of Tacoma, Washington; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kathleen DeLoach and Freddie DeLoach; three brothers-in-law, Randall DeLoach, Freddie DeLoach, Jr., and Kenneth (Stacy) DeLoach; six grandchildren; special niece, Pamela J. Hollingsworth; special nephew, Michael J. (Sandra) Towns of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Homegoing Service for Mr. Edward Lamar Jones will be Monday, May 5, 2014 at 1:00 p. m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Scaife officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Sunday after 2:00 p. m. until the funeral hour. Interment, West Hill Cemetery.
