OBITUARY:

Barbara Ann Lacy was born on November 27, 1953 in Sunflower County, Mississippi to the late Willie Earl Lacy and Catherine Lacy. Barbara made her transition from her earthly life into eternal rest and peace on December 22, 2024 at Columbia of St Mary Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin surrounded by family at her bedside.

Barbara accepted Christ at an early age and joined Good Hope Baptist Church with family and friends. She continued to trust God until death.

Barbara graduated from Saints Academy in 1973. She relocated to Milwaukee, WI and began her career as a Secretary with Procter and Gamble, where she was employed for 15 years. Barbara later received her Associates Degree in Early Child Development and later she became a Licensed Daycare Owner and the Owner of two additional business in Milwaukee County in WI. Barbara found her calling after operating a day care center. She had a passion working with children from broken homes. She later became a foster parent serving children with emotional and behavioral needs until death. She devoted her life to helping parents in need. To this date, several of the children who are now adults still call her “MOM”. Barbara enjoyed entertaining family and friends, shopping and reading.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister. Barbara leaves to cherish her precious memories: Josiash Johnson(adopted son). Four siblings: Ronald E. Lacy, Brenda Lacy, Karen Lacy and Patricia A. Stuckey; five aunts, four uncles, eleven nieces, six nephews and a host of cousins. Special friends; Jewel Gallion, Norman Smith and Rose Washington.
