Obituary For Joseph Careathers

MR. JOSEPH DENNIS CAREATHERS- Age 69, Of LaFayette, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at a local health care. He was a graduate of Hill High School, A U. S. Army Veteran, attended Cove Road Church of God, and was preceded in death by his parents, James Dennis and Esther Burse Careathers and two brothers, Benny and Billy Careathers. He is survived by daughters, Tammy C. Salters of Durham, North Carolina and Tameika C. Hamler of Cincinnati, Ohio; son, Frederick Careathers of Adairsville, Georgia; sister, Sandra (Ernest) Bailey of Madison, Georgia; brother, Minister Paul (Johnequia) Careathers; uncles, J.L. (Flossie) Burse, James Burse, both of Lafayette, and Phillip (Bertha) Burse of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia; aunts, Bessie Morris of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Gustaivia Clemons of Kensington, Georgia; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Cove Road Church of God with Minister Paul Careathers, Rev. Jerry L. Burse, and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Chattanooga National Cemetery.
