Sonya T. Wilson, 53, of Martin Lane, Axton, VA departed from this life on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Stanleytown Health and Rehab. She was born on October 22, 1971, to Betty Martin Wilson and the late Herbert Wilson in Martinsville, VA.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George Wilson, Sr. and Mary Frances Wilson, and her maternal grandparents, Bishop Edward C. Martin, Sr. and Bessie Dillard Martin.

Sonya was a graduate of Laurel Park High School, class of 1989. She was a member of St. Paul Holiness Church in Axton, VA where she participated in the church choir.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include, her Mother of the home, one brother, Ron Wilson (Misty) of Garland, TX; two uncles, Edward Martin, Jr.(Debra) of Martinsville, VA, and George Wilson of Callands, VA; one aunt, Virginia (Howard) Garrett of Cascade, VA; two nieces, Cameron Wilson and Coi Wilson of Garland, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, with Pastor Barry Dillard, Eulogist. The interment will follow at St. Paul Holiness Church Cemetery.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her Mother, 1067 Martin Lane, Axton, VA 24054.
