Obituary For Elbert Easley

MR. ELBERT JULIUS EASLEY – AGE 83, - of Dalton, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 at his residence. He served in the United States Army and retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service receiving the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, National Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and Army Occupation Medal of Japan and Germany. He was a member of Bethel A. M. E. Church. Mr. Easley was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Oscar Easley and Mrs. Roberta Kinion Easley, daughter, Lisa Yvette Alterbaum, four sisters, Polly Andrews, Florence Willis, Mary Ricks, and Roberta Easley, and four brothers, Russell, William, Joe, and Oscar Easley, Jr. He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Madge Esperanza Grayson Easley; daughter, Michelle Angela Easley of Jacksonville, Florida; two grandsons, Eric David Duncanson, Jr. and Adam Christopher Duncanson of Dalton, Georgia; one granddaughter, Ariel Nicole Alterbaum of Jacksonville, Florida; two great grandchildren, Adam Christopher Duncanson, Jr. and Lilah Duncanson; one brother, Charles Easley of Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-law, Beatrice Easley of Powder Springs, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service for Elbert Julius Easley will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel with Rev. Erma Raymond officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday after 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. Interment, Chattanooga National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
