Obituary For Frank Ray

DEACON FRANK E. RAY, JR. – Age 73, Of Dalton, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was retired from Shaw industries for over thirty years, was the owner of the Cut Above Barber shop for over fifty years, was a deacon of New Hope Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his father, Frank E. Ray, Sr., mothers, Ruby Rooker Ray and Marzelle Mann Ray, sister, Ann Ray Weaver, and his first wife, Carolyn Toliver Ray. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Dillard Ray; daughters, Marsha (Adrian) Ray Wright of McLeansville, North Carolina, Tia (Randy) Rodriguez, and Melissa Bonds of Dalton, Georgia; son, Clinton Dillard; god-daughter, Rhonda Gay of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Denni Wright, Anslyn Wright of McLeansville, Lillie Rodriguez, Ian Rodriguez of Dalton, Cyle Rodriguez, and Cody Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Carolyn (Mitchell) Ray Cooper of Dalton and Lynn (Robert) Ray Gay of Douglasville, Georgia; brother, Stephen (Million) Williams of Jacksonville, North Carolina; aunt, Kathleen DeLoach of Dalton; uncle, David Mann of Seattle, Washington; sisters-in-law, Claudette Rivers King of Atlanta, Myrtle Betton of Tuson, Arizona; brothers-in-law, Curtis (Patricia) Rivers of Dalton, Robert (Helen) Rivers of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, David (Ollie) Betton of Atlanta, Robert Brown, and Ezekiel Weaver of Dalton; mother-in-law, Eva Lou Rivers of Dalton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at New Hope Baptist Church, 900 Roan Street, Dalton, Georgia, with Pastor Kenneth Scaife, Rev. Rodney Weaver, and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Interment, West Hill Cemetery.
