Obituary For James Marsh, Sr.

MR. JAMES ELSTON (“JIM”) MARSH, SR., - AGE 92, Of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 a his residence. He was a member of the Chickamauga Church of Christ, and retired from the City of Chattanooga. He continued the family lumber business until the mid-sixties and cattle farming. He was active in the local community, churches, N.A.A.C.P., Sunday School, the North Georgia Association, and was also preceded in death by his son, James Elston Marsh, Jr. Jim is survived by his wife, Melva Marsh; three daughters, Cheryl Kay Greer, Terry Jean Knowles, and Brenda Gale Fields; one brother, Willie Weston Marsh; eight grandchildren; great grandchildren; special friend, Lorene Marsh; care giver, Mary Careathers who took exceptional care of him; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Homegoing Service will be held Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel with Rev. William Tramble, Rev. Hugh Byrd, and other ministers officiating. The Family will receive friends Saturday Evening, October 4, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Interment, Marsh Memorial Gardens.
