Obituary For Edna McClure

MRS. EDNA MAE SLEDGE McCLURE – AGE 96, - Of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Southern Crescent Hospital in Riverdale, Georgia. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, George McClure, son, Lt. Col. George M. McClure, and her adoptive parents, George Wilmot and Susie Wilmot Hogan. She is survived by her three daughters, Janice M. Burrell of Calhoun, Georgia, Susie L. McClure Beasley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Shirley (Perry) McClure Walker of Carrollton, Georgia; two sons, Rev. Mickey R. (Thomasina) Hassler of St. Louis, Missouri, Henry E. McClure of Rome, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Janet L. McClure of Valdosta, Georgia; sister, Eunice B. Cobb of Arlington, Virginia; sister-in-law, Henrietta K. McClure of Calhoun; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; special nephew, Robert Hutcheson of Palmetto, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Homegoing Celebration will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 1:00 p. m. at Allen Chapel A. M. E. Church, 227 South King Street, Calhoun, GA. with Rev. John Harris, Eulogist, Rev. Debra Harris, and Pastor Joseph McKibbens officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Gordon Memorial Gardens.
