Obituary For Mary Grimes

MRS. MARY RUTH GRIMES – AGE 67, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away Friday, December 12, 2014. She was born to the late Jeff and Elizabeth Hall on August 20, 1947 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mary was a member of Foster Chapel Baptist Church, a graduate of Austin High School, Class of 1965, employed at Standard Knitting Mill and Robert Shaw, and was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Elizabeth Moulden Hall, brothers, Namon, Claude, Melvin, Eugene, and Robert Hall, sister, Sammie Nelson, sisters-in-law, Betty Hall and Vera Grimes Smith, and brother-in-law, Curtis Grimes. She is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Ira Grimes, Sr.; stepdaughters, Angela Bond and Ethel Lynn Freeman; stepson, Ira (Chipper) Grimes; sisters, Carolyn McGill and Frances Hall; brother, Paul B.O. Hall; god-daughter, Alissah McClure; sisters-in-law, Geraline G. Scott, Virginia (Allen) Taylor, Maosa (Will) Moore, Amanda Hall, Etta Hall, Sadie Grimes, and Evelyn Grimes; brother-in-law; James (Faye) Grimes; aunt, Jean Hall; seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. The family wishes to thank her devoted caregivers, Rhonda Widener, Joyce Armstrong, and Eleanor Lattimer for all of their patience, love and care, and the Neurology Third Floor at Fort Sanders Hospital. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. at Foster Chapel Baptist Church, 2101 Ault Rd., Knoxville, Tennessee with Pastor Joseph Tolbert officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens.
