Helen Devone Lee Miller also known as Vone, departed this earthly life on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mullins, SC to Robert and Sally Mae Lee on January 10, 1955. She was the 7th of 8 children.

Helen was raised in Lake View, SC and attended school there until 1972 when she moved to High Point, NC. There she attended and graduated from High Point Central High School in 1973. In 1975 she married the love of her life, Earnest Miller and together they raised three children: Mike, Elliott, and Tonia. Their union was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect, spanning five decades of cherished memories.

In April of 1972 she accepted Christ as her personal savior and began an intimate journey with Christ that lasted the rest of her life. She was a vibrant and loving person that lived a life devoted and dedicated to God and family. A pillar of strength in her church and community, Helen’s life was defined by her selfless devotion to others. Her kindness and compassion touched countless lives, whether through her church activities, volunteer work, or simply being a comforting presence to those in need. Her faith in God was evident in every aspect of her life, serving as an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Robbie Lee and Selester Lee, four sisters, Sarah Ford, Betty Montgomery, Carolyn Byrd and Patrica Lee.

Helen leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to resonate through her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband Earnest, her brother Rosevelt, her children and a host of grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Her family will remember her for her larger-than-life smile, delicious homemade meals, her warm hugs, and her unwavering belief in the power of prayer. Helen's life was a testament to the joy of faith, family, and community. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Funeral service will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church. Interment will follow Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:15 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
