Obituary For Mary Pankey

MRS. MARY M. WORTHEN PANKEY- Age 68, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at a local hospital. She was born to the late George Worthen Sr. and Bernita Lawrence November 29, 1946. She was a member of Church Without Walls of Atlanta, GA. Elder Paul Johnson. She was a 1964 graduate of Riverside High School. She attended Knoxville College and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She began her teaching career in the City Public School System, Tampa Florida Public Schools. She retired from over 30 years of service, from Hamilton County Public School Systems. She was also a member of AKA sorority. She is survived by one sister, Brenda J.(Harry) Howard; one brother, Elder Paul L. Johnson, both of Chattanooga; nephew, Kenneth L (Atthea) Worthen; four nieces, Denise M. (Bobby) Morris, Robin A. Hammond, Georgena P. Smith, and LeAndra Smith, all of Chattanooga; a host of great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Greater Faith Temple Baptist Church, 652 East 10th Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37403, with Pastors, Elder Paul Johnson, Pastor Nathaniel Carter, Pastor Jeffery Jefferson officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the church from 11:30 until the funeral hour. Interment, Forest Hills Cemetery.
