MRS. EVELYN JOYCE WOMBLE JONES , - Of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 in a local Healthcare. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church and retired from Roper Corporation. She was preceded in death by her Father, Rev. Robert Womble, Sr., sister, Louise Womble, brother, Thomas Womble, and son, Stacy Ware. Survivors are her loving family, daughter, Stephanie (Dewayne) Harris of LaFayette, Georgia, granddaughter, Ashley (Travis) Whatley of El Paso, Texas, grandson, Brandon (Macon) Harris of Chickamauga, Georgia; ten great grandchildren; mother, Mrs. Julia Womble Stallings of LaFayette; seven sisters, Bertha Mae Buchanan, Elizabeth Nelson, Nylia Swint, Curlee Holmes, Barbara Ann Brown, Kathleen Bailey and Geneva Faye Davis; four brothers, Robert Womble, Jr., Dr. Willie (Priscilla) Womble, Nathaniel (Ruby) Womble, and George Ralph Stallings; special friends, Stefan Shropshire, Vicki Jones; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service for Evelyn Joyce Womble Jones will be Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church 2306 West Armuchee Rd., Lafayette, Georgia with Pastor Jeffery Copeland, Eulogist and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the church from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Interment, Lafayette City Cemetery.
