Obituary For Melvin Watters

DEACON MELVIN LEROY WATTERS- Age 94, - Of Plainville, Georgia passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 at his daughter’s residence in Calhoun, Georgia. He was a member and Deacon of Bethesda Baptist Church, and retired from West Point Pepperell in Lindale, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Morgan Watters, daughter, Glenda Jean Harris, and granddaughter, Cayla Brown. Survivors are his loving family, sons, Minister Calvin (Lois) Watters of Augusta, Georgia, Morgan (Loraine) Watters of Plainville, Georgia; daughter, Marilyn W. (Michael Gregory) Pope of Calhoun, GA., and Frances (Waitsul) Brown of Plainville; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren; son-in-law, Terry Harris; sisters-in-law, Minnie Morgan, Edna Dallas, Eloise Hindsman; brother-in-law, Hiram Morgan, Jr. all of Atlanta, GA.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 1:00 p. m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 1170 Rome Road, S. W., Calhoun, Georgia with Rev. Carlos Calhoun, Bishop V. T. Harden, Eulogist. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 8:00 p. m. at Bethesda Baptist Church in Plainville, GA. Interment, Shady Memorial Cemetery.
