Obituary For John Oliver Besley

MR. JOHN OLIVER BESLEY – Age 92, Of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Quinton Memorial Health & Rehabilitation. He was a member of Fairground Baptist Church, a World War II Veteran, and was retired from Shaw Industries and Dalton Public Schools for over twenty years. Mr. Besley leaves behind a dear friend, Minnie Louise Rhodes of Dalton, Georgia; one son, Rickey (Cheryl) Moore of Warner Robins, Georgia; two grandchildren, Ariel Ficklin of Macon, Georgia and Petty Officer 2nd Class Ben Ficklin, USN, San Diego, California; nephews, William Besley, Clayton Besley, and Horace Lee Besley; nieces, Mary Broome, Rachel Besley, and Annie Besley; a host of other great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel with Bishop Claud Jones as Eulogist and Pastor Thomas Hall, presiding. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday after 11:00 A.M.
