Obituary For Charles Sanford Gilder

MR. CHARLES SANFORD “C.S.” GILDER– Age 71, Of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Roanoke, Alabama, was a retired truck driver, and was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Alice Gilder, siblings, Arthur Gilder, John Gilder, Luther Gilder, Lillie Bell Askew, and Jessie Mae Gilder. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Rosa “Shirley” Gilder of Chattanooga; three children, Lanetta M. (Oludare) Sodipo of Laurel, Maryland, Charles M. Gilder of Chattanooga, and Tiffany N. Gilder of Nashville, Tennessee; sisters, Linnie Heath of Lanett, Alabama, Mozell Bell of LaFayette, Alabama, Annie Ruth (Orte) Askew of Lanett, and Lucille (James) Browder of Glenwood, Illinois; brother, Wilson Gilder of LaFayette; sisters-in-law, Ida M. Martin of Decatur, Georgia and Faye (William) Curd of Oliver Spring, Tennessee; brothers-in-law, Rev. Eugene (Mary) Stamper and Gary (Rhonda) Martin of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church, 3777 Wilcox Blvd., Chattanooga, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment, Lakewood Memory Gardens.
