OBITUARY:

Mary Cora Young was born September 2, 1934 in Holmes Co., to Annie B Hampton and Nathaniel Hampton. Mary nicknamed “Sug” was the oldest of four girls, Margaret Jackson, Annie Bell Broadnax and Martha Love, all who preceded her in death.

In 1951, Mary married Forest Young, Sr. and to this union six children were born. Mary and Forest were married for 58 years before his death in 2009. Her oldest daughter, Mae Linda Chambers, her daughter in law Lucille Young and two grandchildren preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters Thelma (Melvin) Granderson of Harvey, IL and Eliza Thomas of Tchula, MS. Three sons; Forest Young, Jr., Eugene Young and Jess James (Rhonda) Young all of Tchula, MS. Sixteen grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren and a host of other children who called her “Grandma” and her god-daughter Shirley Harris Newberry. A special niece Karen Taylor a special pet “Remy” and a host of nieces and nephews.
