Obituary For Martha McConnell

MRS. MARTHA L. McCONNELL – AGE 95. – Of Hudson, Florida and formerly of Dalton, Georgia passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 in Florida. She was born in Dalton, Georgia to Bailey and Minnie Varner. Martha moved to Columbus, Ohio in the 60’s and married Charles McConnell. She was of the Christian faith and will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McConnell; son, William Goodlett; parents, Bailey and Minnie Varner; sister, Katherine Wofford; brothers, Robert, Henry, and Jack Varner and granddaughter, Katherine McQueen; and nephew James Wofford, Jr. She is survived by her grandchildren, Juanita Hairston, Jacqueline (Gary) Mosley, Wesley (Davica) Goodlett, Angela (Alvin) Rice, Karla Edgerton, Karen Henderson, and Jon (Ju’an) Henderson; over twenty great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Felicia Goodlett; cousins, other relatives, and friends. A special acknowledgement to Juanita Hairston (Granddaughter), Juanita Sherylle Hairston, David William Hairston (Great Grandchildren), and friend Vicki Fischel for their help in taking care of “Granny.” Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00 a. m. at Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry D.
