Obituary For William 'Sonny' Lamar Calhoun

MR. WILLIAM LAMAR “SONNY” CALHOUN – Age 70, Of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015. He was a member of Greater St. James Overcoming Church of God, was retired from Mohawk Industries, and was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Cain Calhoun and Amanda Branham Calhoun, brother, Wiley Eugene Calhoun, and grandparents, Mary Ellen Bell, George Washington Bell, Joe and Onie Branham, loving Mother-in-law, Elder Doris J. Pender, Hill. He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Elder Marilyn Hill Calhoun; children, son, Gary (Anita) Calhoun, daughter, Stacy (Mike) Wulf of Mississippi, and son, Jayden Lamar Calhoun; sisters, Mary E. Sims and Elaine (Herman) Winn; grandchildren, Joshua Wulf and Jacob Wulf; great grandchildren, Kiera Wulf, Ja’Cerah Wulf, and JaKiyah Wulf; aunts, Ruby Goodlett, Eula Branham, Elizabeth Daniels, and Mary France Moore; uncles, Tommy Lane Pender and John (Jennifer) Hill; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Grayson, Brenda Clemons, and Lisa Hill; brothers-in-law, Calvin (Joyce) Hill, Marvin (Schenique) Hill, Mark Hill, Kevin Hill, Dennis (Marie) Hill, and Rodney (Aleshia) Hill; special cousins, Murray Greg Goodlett, and Rev. Kenneth Thomas; special friend, Bill Lyons; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel with Dr. Nicky P. Starling and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday Evening from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday after 11:00 a. m.
