Cierra Casem

02/27/1997 - 01/08/2025

Cearra Nicole Casem was born on February 27, 1997, in Memphis, Tennessee, the beloved oldest child of Juan A. Casem, Sr. and Chermale K. Casem. At two, she graciously welcomed her twin brothers, Juan II and Emmanuel “Manny”, wholeheartedly embracing her role as a caring big sister.

From her earliest days, Cearra’s warm spirit radiated as she delighted in childhood games like “peek-a-boo” and “hide & seek” with her parents. Growing up, she enjoyed outdoor adventures, participated in gymnastics at The Little Gym, and took swimming lessons at the University of Memphis.

Throughout her homeschool education, Cearra displayed an inquisitive mind and an eagerness to learn. She also treasured time spent with her grandparents, sharing special moments like sleepovers, zoo visits, and memorable out-of-town trips.

After moving to Fayette County, Cearra attended West Junior High School, where her selection as a cheerleader provided the perfect platform to showcase her kind disposition and unwavering faith. She built cherished friendships and was well-loved by faculty and staff. At Fayette Ware Comprehensive High School, she immersed herself in cheerleading, volleyball, track & field, choir, and actively contributed to FCCLA, developing her leadership and communication skills.

Cearra’s faith and positive outlook guided her journey at Middle Tennessee State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Fashion Merchandising. Post-college, she flourished in the Nashville area, working at MiTech and Vanderbilt University Health. Cearra earned a reputation for being solutions-focused, with a steadfast work ethic and an unshakable optimism.

Despite her courageous battle with illness, Cearra remained resolute and hopeful, exemplifying her “never quit” attitude until she peacefully transitioned on January 8, 2025. She will forever be remembered for her radiant smile, compassionate nature, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends.
