Obituary For Jesse Washington Mann, II

MR. JESSE WASHINGTON MANN, II – Age 70, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Curryville Community and was a retired Lieutenant from the Calhoun Police Department where he worked for more than 26 years. Earlier, he worked for Lockheed Corporation and Oatha Mann Plumbing. For many years, he drove a school bus and transported children throughout Gordon County to schools, football games and other events. He was a 1963 graduate of Stephens High School in Calhoun where he was voted “Mr. Annual” in his senior year. Throughout his adult life, “Big Jesse” was an avid bowler and participated in numerous leagues and competitions. Mr. Mann was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 44 years, Mrs. Aszlee Vonette Davis Mann, father, Mr. Hansome David Mann, and mother, Mrs. Jessie Elberta Kinnebrew Mann. He will be missed dearly by his family, two daughters Melissa Mann and Yolanda Mann, both of Calhoun, Georgia; three sons, Jesse (D’Wauna) Mann, III of Calhoun, Timothy (Frenzica) Mann of East Ridge, Tennessee, and Jeremy Mann of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Tatyanna Mann of East Ridge and Rebecca Mann of Calhoun; three sisters, Juanita Sanks of Niceville, Florida, Deborah Graves of Mt. Vernon, New York, and Myrtle (Arnold) Benjamin of Ellington, Connecticut; one brother, Edward (Katie) Mann of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; one sister-in-law, Grace (David) Washington of Calhoun; one brother-in-law, Pastor John (Althea) Davis of Augusta, Georgia; aunt, Jerline Porch of Calhoun; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 256 Church Road SW, Calhoun, Georgia with Pastor H.D. Caldwell officiating. His remains will lie in state one hour before the service. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Interment, Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
