Obituary For Irene Upshaw

MS. IRENE UPSHAW– Age 63, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at a local healthcare. Irene was the daughter of the late Joseph and Annie Ruth Gladden Upshaw, Sr. and was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Jean Upshaw, brother, Joseph Upshaw, Jr. and was a lifetime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.. Irene is survived by a dear loving friend, Russell Underwood; sisters, Virginia Upshaw Turner and Jo Anne Upshaw Davis of Chickamauga, Georgia; brother, Anthony (Carolyn) Upshaw, sister-in-law, Lillian Upshaw, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; aunts, Mattie Simpson of Chickamauga, Georgia, Bonnell Upshaw of Carrollton, Georgia and Mary Stevenson of Boston, Massachusetts; step children, Shon Underwood, Natasha Underwood and Nashard Underwood, mother to all of her nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; two special friends, Lessie Foster and Rose Clemons, and other friends. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 427 Southern Prospect Road, Chickamauga, Georgia with Pastor William Tramble and other Ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Other hours the family will receive friends at the residence of her sister, Virginia Turner.
