OBITUARY:

Mildred Bradley Wilson was born in Blaine, MS on August 29, 1940 to Abron and Frances Bradley. She was the youngest of six children and at an early age, she accepted Christ at New Hope Baptist Church.

Mildred later moved to the Mileston, MS community where she married the late Sammie Lee Wilson. In this community, she also discovered another love - the local church.

Mildred sang in the Good Hope M.B. church choir for many years and later served on the Mother's Board- a position that she cherished! Recently, she was recognized by the Mileston Alumni Association for her contributions to community service. She also loved her family and is fondly remembered by her nephews and nieces as the playful aunt who talked “noise” and made mud cakes with them as youngsters.

Mildred dedicated 30+ years to the Holmes County School District, mostly as a bus driver. She was known as a firm but fair driver who once “dismissed” a misbehaving student from the bus with his “walking pass”. This was a school violation: however, Mildred's 3-day work suspension was reduced by the Board when she emphasized that she would NOT tolerate any student bullying or disrespecting another one.

On January 18, 2025, Mildred was called to her heavenly home.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents: Abron and Frances Bradley; two sons: Johnny Williams and Jessie Douglas; son-in-law, Albert Henderson; grandson, Alfred “Weeka” Wilson and four siblings: Arthur James Bradley, Percy Bradley, Nora Hill and Abron Bradley, Jr.

Mildred leaves to cherish precious memoires seven children: Ramona Henderson, Thelma Langston (Rufus) and Coretta Wilson, all of Mileston, MS; Bernice Clark, of Tchula, MS, Lena Jochim(Tim) of Columbus, OH, Michael Wilson of Buckeye, AZ, Kevin Wilson of Overland Park, KS and one stepson Perrin Wilson of Greenwood, MS. One sister; Frances Browder of Jackson, MS; and one sister-in-law, Louise Bradley of Michigan City, IN; 24 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
