Obituary For Viola Davis Shelton

MRS. VIOLA DAVIS SHELTON – AGE 92, - Of Chattanooga, Tennessee and formerly of Kensington Community passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 at her residence. She was the widow of the late Mr. Harden Shelton, was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Kensington, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Harry and Mrs. Grace Dooley Davis; two sons, George Cheek, and Charles H. Shelton, sisters, Lillian, Elizabeth, Beatrice, and Jessie Lee; brothers, Rob Davis, Paul, Tommy, Harrison, and Homer. Survivors are her two daughters, Ethel Ruth (Larry) Turner of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Mary Stallion of Chickamauga, Georgia; five sons, James Shelton, Calvin Shelton of Chattanooga, Anthony Shelton of Chickamauga, Willie Frank Shelton of New York City, New York, and Lorenzo Shelton of Dalton, Georgia; thirty grandchildren, sixty-two great grandchildren, fifteen great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maude Davis of Nashville, Tennessee; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 2:00 P. M. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Kensington, Georgia with Rev. Archie Jackson as Euglogist, and Pastor William Tramble, Presiding. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 P. M. at the church. Interment on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:30 A. M. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
