Obituary For John Mitchell Moore, Jr.

MR. JOHN “BOJAC’ MITCHELL MOORE, JR.- Age 56, of Jacksonville, FL and formerly of Dalton, Georgia passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at UF Health Jacksonville following an extended illness surrounded by his family. John was born in Dalton, Georgia on March 11, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Mitchell Moore, Sr. and Cora Elizabeth Macon Moore, and grandparents James and Estelle Moore, Sr. and Ben Joe & Lillie Macon. He was of the Baptist faith and was a resident of Jacksonville, Florida for over 30 years. He retired from the United States Navy in 1999 receiving an Honorable Discharge after serving 21 years as an ASM1. He served in Operation Desert Storm. He received the following medals: Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Medal, SW/Asian Service Medal, WBRZ Star, Navy Achievement Medal, Oversea Service Ribbon and Armed Forces Service Medal. He is survived by his loving family, two sons, Donald Brown and Jordan Moore; one daughter, Joi Moore; stepdaughter, Doneisha Brown; stepsons, Aubrey Brown and Andre Brown; stepgrandson, Alijah Osei; brother, Allen Moore; uncles, Albert Hill Sr. of Tunnel Hill, Georgia and Tommy Lee (Betty) Macon of Dalton, Georgia; mother of his children (Jordan and Joi), Glenda Moore; the Love of his life and mother to his step children, Audrey Brown; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 3, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Marion Graham Mortuaries, 1504 Gandy St., Jacksonville, Florida 32208. The family will receive friends in the Chapel on Sunday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Entombment will be held in Jacksonville, Florida.
