Obituary For James Howard Harris

MR. JAMES HOWARD HARRIS – Age 62, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 at his residence. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, was a truck driver for several local textile companies, and was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Sarah Tibbs Harris, and son, Jamie Lavar “Peavey” Harris. He is survived by daughter, Joni LeeAnna (James Darnell) Williams of Chattanooga, Tennessee; son, Jody Harris of Dalton, Georgia; special friends, Joann Burse Lumpkin and Annette Carnes; stepson, Tim (Kayla) Odell; stepdaughters, Amanda (Rudy) Garcia and Bridgette Allen; 4 grandchildren, Jaylon Harris, Shaylon Harris, Miracle Harris, and Taylon Harris; 6 stepgrandchildren;one sister, Kathy Parks of Snellville, Georgia; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel with Bishop Reuben Graham and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A.M. Interment, Hopewell Cemetery.
