Dorothy Mae Hancock of Houston, Texas, formerly of Blytheville, Arkansas, was born March 11,1951 in Luxora, Arkansas, the daughter of Samuel L. McKinney and Vivian Lucille Smith. Dorothy confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Promiseland Church of God in Christ for more than 30 years and was employed at Fabric Care Cleaners.

Dorothy was a kind, strong, and dedicated mother, who always made sure that her family was taken care of first. She enjoyed journaling and completing puzzle books.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel McKinney and Vivian Lucille Smith, two sisters, Forrest McKinney-Steward and Castella Dryer, four nephews, Mark Dryer, Derrick McKinney, Brandon Hancock, and Clayton Wheeler.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her loving and devoted children, Carol Robinson of Houston, Texas, and Tracy Taylor of Blytheville, Arkansas, five brothers, Paul, (Carolyn Hancock, Eddie Young, Robert (Trish) Young, Albert Young and Greg (Gina) Johnson all of Blytheville, Arkansas; four sisters, Arthur Mae Hancock of Blytheville, Arkansas, Benoit Payne of Memphis, Tennessee, Annette (Joe) Jackson of North Carolina and Barbara (Joe) Banieh of Bay City, Texas , eight grandchildren, Joshua (Precious) Chapman, Korday Robinson, Eric Stubbs, TraShawnda Taylor, Tanisha Taylor, Christian Taylor and Kalei Taylor, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Promiseland Church of God In Christ, 2150South US Highway 61, Osceola, Arkansas where Superintendent Johnny Moore is the pastor.

Funeral services are to be conducted at 1:00 p.m. at Promiseland, with Superintendent Moore delivering the eulogy.
