Obituary For Robert Charles Porter

MR. ROBERT CHARLES PORTER – Age 57, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Buchanan and Mary Louise Rutledge, and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He retired as a Veteran from the United States Army. He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Wanda Jean Adams Porter; son, Lamarcus Jermaine (Misty) Bailey; daughter, Tawanda Ann Porter of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandchildren, Chelsea, Quenton, Joshua, Lamarcus, Jr., Sam, Quanterrius, Twa’Layjah, and Sumijah; sisters, Alberta “June” Porter, Charlene (Carlence) Smith and Joan “Liz” Cotton; brothers, James Wesley (Kimberly) Porter, Charlie Clarance (Clara) Porter, Samuel Bartley; aunts, Sandra Smith, Elizabeth Tremble, and Beatrice Porter; special aunts, Shirley Watkins and Fannie Fields; brothers-in-law, Joseph Adams, Jerry Adams and Joe Melvin Adams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Hwy. 341, Chickamauga, Georgia with Pastor William Tramble officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Interment will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 10:30 A.M at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
