Mr. Warren Steele

Mr. Warren Steele was born on January 18, 1962, in Mt. Gilead, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Callie C. Steele Sr. and the late Nealie Mae Pemberton Steele. He departed this life on January 27, 2025.

Mr. Steele attended public schools in Montgomery County and later went to Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he graduated cum laude in 1985.

He worked for many years as a manager for Roberts Uniform Inc. in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Goodwill Industries in Kernersville, North Carolina. At the time of his passing, he was employed by Sunstate Security in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, working at the Wake Forest Biotech Place job site.

Mr. Steele also worked with Organo Gold as an independent distributor in his leisure time.

Throughout his life, Warren made many friends and was loved by so many for his business-minded nature, reserved demeanor, straightforwardness, charming smile (when you could catch one), and sense of humor. He loved and cherished his family and deeply loved God, growing to embrace his faith as a man of God.

Warren was preceded in death by one sister, Cynthia Exum.

Warren was blessed with five children during his marriage to Yakema Fletcher Steele: Brad, Vanessa, Aaron, Aaliyah, and Terrence.

He leaves behind three living children: Vanessa D. Washington (Antoine), Aaron D. Steele, and Terrence D. Steele. He is also survived by two grandchildren: Deshawn RayAnthony Steele and Deshea R. Steele. Warren is remembered by his siblings: Callie C. Steele Jr. (Pearl), Isaac R. Steele (Demetra), Teressa Chappell, Tina R. Fields (Johnny), and Vorecia Steele (Woodrow Jr.); one brother-in-law, Larry Exum along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.

The Services to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mr. Steele will be on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at St. Stephens AME Zion Church, Mount Gilead, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Church Cemetery.
