Obituary For Jonas William 'Dub' Dixon

MR. JONAS WILLIAM “DUB” DIXON – Age 83, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017. He was born on August 10, 1933 in LaFayette, Georgia to the late Cornelius Monroe Dixon and Dorothy Mae Dixon and attended Naples Church in Menlo. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War and retired from Shaw Industries in Dalton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Mary Elizabeth Shropshire Dixon, sons, Michael Anthony Dixon, Dave Cornelius Dixon, and brother, Joe Louis Dixon. He is survived by his two sons, Kenneth Allen Dixon of LaFayette, Georgia and Lonnie Eugene Dixon of Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Doris Marie Williams of LaFayette, Georgia and Jerri (Terrance) Leak of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sisters, Ethel McNeal, Violet Townsend, Dorisa Loveless and Virginia Hudson; brothers, Monroe Dixon, Aaron Dixon and David Dixon; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Michael Montgomery officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 P.M.
