Obituary For Hugh Gene 'Tommy' Griffin

MR. HUGH GENE “TOMMY” GRIFFIN – Age 79, of Dalton passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017. He was born in Murray County, Georgia to the late Willie Benjamin Griffin and Pauline Davis Griffin. He attended Emery Street School and received a G.E.D. and an Associate’s Degree from Diablo Community College. He retired from Los Medanos Hospital in California. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Virginia Cooper Griffin of Dalton, Georgia; son, Ronald Keith ( Evang. Antoinette) Thompson of Mesa, Arizona; daughters, Sherry Lynnette (Maurice) Williams of Fairfield, California, Donna Yvette Thompson of Phoenix, Arizona, Renee Griffin Austin of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Stacie, Meaghan, Reginald, Kale, Vania, Kiegan, Kolbe, and Brennan; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Caroline Virginia Broome of Decatur, Georgia, Willa Faye Williams of South Holland, Illinois, and Gladiola Griffin of Dalton; brothers, Benjamin Brooks Griffin of Reno, Nevada, Robert Griffin of Dalton, and Davis (Mamie) Griffin of Calhoun; brother-in-law, Leon (Marion) Cooper of Dalton; special nephew, Allan Baker, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1:00 P. M. in the Chapel with Evang. Antoinette Thompson and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A. M. and the family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P. M.
