Obituary For Joshua Addison 'Josh' Morton

MR. JOSHUA ADDISON “JOSH” MORTON – Age 27, of McDonough, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 while in McDonough. He was a member of Spirit and Truth Sanctuary Church in Decatur, Georgia, a 2008 graduate of Union Grove High School, and a former student of Clayton State University School of Business and Georgia Southwestern State University. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Eugene Morton, great grandparents, League Thomas “L.T.” Spivey and Annie Sue Spivey, Abraham “A.B.” Smith and Evelyn Smith, Lee and Willie Nell Warner, and great aunt, Frances Chambers. He is survived by his parents, Kenneth A. Morton and Demetra E. Morton of McDonough, Georgia; grandparents, Edward and Linda Spivey of Atlanta, Georgia and Annie Lou Morton of Greer, South Carolina; aunts, Tira (Stanford) Smith of Smyrna, Georgia, Marilyn Hunter of Woodruff, South Carolina, Wanda Gosset of Reidville, South Carolina, and Lisa Morton of Greer, South Carolina; uncles, Joseph (Tracy) Morton of Woodruff, SC; great aunts, Tina Morton of Glenn Cove, New York; great uncle, Lewis (Betty) Morton of Woodruff; devoted cousins, Shawnathan Wortham and Joyce Wortham of Chamblee, Georgia; a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends. The Homegoing Service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Phillip A.M.E. Church, 240 Candler Rd., S.E., Atlanta, Georgia, with Pastor D. E. Paulk, Rev. Curtis Howell and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home, 4347 Flat Shoals Pkwy., Decatur, Georgia 30034. Entombment will be held at the Washington Memorial Gardens.
