Obituary For Ruby Branham Goodlett

MRS. RUBY BRANHAM GOODLETT – Age 93, of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Murray County, Georgia to the late Joe Branham and Onie Beck Branham. Mrs. Branham was a 1943 graduate of Emery Street High School, and attended Fort Valley State College, Albany State College, and Dermis-Cura Beauty College in Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Branham, Amanda Calhoun, Eula Lee Branham, brother, Murray Branham, niece/daughter, Edna Murphy, and nephews, William L. Calhoun and Wiley E. Calhoun. She is survived by her son, Murray G. Goodlett of Dalton, Georgia; granddaughters, Camille Goodlett Stephens of Atlanta, Georgia and Chante Black of Raleigh, North Carolina; great grandchildren, Jordan Goodlett, Arayah Goodlett, and Christian Malik Stephens; nieces, Mary Sims and Elaine Winn; special cousins, Carolyn Gay and Kate Kemp; special friends, Marge Barton, friends at Lesotho, Southern Africa, South Africa and Thandi Luthuli Gcabashe and her family; surrogate daughter, Amy Bloomfield; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends; special thanks to Karen Bryan, Margina Norris and Chaplain Steve Miller of Heartlite Hospice. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel with Rev. Eddie S. Reynolds, Rev. Erma Raymond, and other ministers officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Kappa Alpha Psi, Masonic Brothers, and Dalton High Class of 1968. Flower Bearers are the Women of Bethel A.M.E Church and Dalton High Class of 1968. Honorary Flower Bearers are members of the Woman’s Community Club. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.
